The Allergy Clinic of Tulsa, Inc. was established on July 15, 1959. Our original staff consisted of Dr. Leon Horowitz and Ms. Jane Cowan. Dr. Horowitz was the first pediatric allergist in the area. Our original office was located in the southeast corner of 21st & Yale in Tulsa. We then moved to Utica Square Medical Center in 1964.
Dr. David Hurewitz joined us in 1975. In 1977, we relocated to our present day “midtown” location at 1727 S. Utica. When Dr. Horowitz retired in 1993, Dr. Jane Purser came to us from California. Our practice has continued to grow, necessitating the addition of four more physicians. They include Dr. James Love, Jr. (Texas) in 1996, Dr. Laudy Naimeh (Iowa) in 2000, Dr. Timothy Nickel (Kansas) in 2004 and, most recently, Dr. Kathryn Brown (Missouri) in late 2007. We also have three nurse practitioners – Karen Arnold, ARNP (2002); Todd Coleman, CPNP (2003), and Vanessa Byers, CPNP (2005).
We outgrew out Utica location and built a larger office at 9311 S. Mingo Road. We moved into the building in October 2002. Our physicians and nurse practitioners continue to see patients at both office locations.
Our physicians also use these offices as a teaching module for medicine, pediatric and family practice Residents for both the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and Oklahoma State University School of Osteopathy. The have also co-authored several articles in their fields and continue to accommodate interviews (television and print) for local and statewide media outlets. |
